چکیده
It is generally assumed that the two dark components of the energy density of the universe, a smooth component called dark energy and a fluid of nonrelativistic weakly interacting particles called dark matter, are independent of each other and interact only through gravity. In this paper, we consider a class of models in which the dark matter and dark energy interact directly. The dark matter particle mass is proportional to the value of a scalar field, and the energy density of this scalar field comprises the dark energy. We study the phenomenology of these models and calculate the luminosity distance as a function of redshift and the CMB anisotropy spectrum for several cases. We find that the phenomenology of these models can differ significantly from the standard case, and current observations can already rule out the simplest models. ∗[email protected]

We examine whether tachyon matter is a viable candidate for the cosmological dark matter. First, we demonstrate that in order for the density of tachyon matter to have an acceptable value today, the magnitude of the tachyon potential energy at the onset of rolling must be finely tuned. For a tachyon potential V (T ) ∼ M4 P l exp(−T/τ), the tachyon must start rolling at T ≃ 60τ in order for the ...

A cosmological model with total density close to critical (and flat geometry), dominated by dark matter and dark energy of unknown nature, and consistent with the basic predictions of the inflationary scenario is a very good fit to a variety of cosmological probes: the anisotropy of the CMB, the large scale distribution of matter, the luminosity distance of high-redshift type Ia supernovae and ...

As experimentalists step up their pursuit of cold dark matter particles and neutrino masses, cosmological constraints are tightening. We compute the joint constraints on 11 cosmological parameters from cosmic microwave background and large scale structure data, and find that at 95% confidence, the total (cold+hot) dark matter density is hΩdm = 0.20 +.12 −.10 with at most 38% of it being hot (du...

We discuss the questions related to dark energy in the Universe. We note that in spite of the effect of dark energy, large-scale structure is still being generated in the Universe and this will continue for about ten billion years. We also comment on some statements in the paper " Dark energy and universal antigravitation " by A.D. Chernin [4].

The present paper seeks to construct a quantum theory of the cosmological constant in which its presently observed very small value emerges naturally. Large scale cosmological observations over the past decade (see references cited in [1], and [2-4]) have provided data which are in accord with the simplest cosmological model LCDM (Λ + Cold Dark Matter) [4-7]. This model is governed by the homog...
